In this session we will discuss maintaining status, unlawful presence, and other common issue that arise while trying to lawfully remain in the US. The presenters will address issues that frequently arise for Fs, Js, other nonimmigrants and permanent residents.

Learning Objectives:

Gaining an understanding of what unlawful presence is, how it is counted and when the unlawful presence clock starts.
Address common issue that arise for F, Js and H1Bs in maintaining lawful status in the US.
Develop skills to advise international students, faculty and staff about lawfully maintaining status in the US.
